Door and window profiles are not flat
The main reason for the leakage of doors and windows is the tightness between the door and window sash and the frame. The flatness of the profile is an important factor affecting the tightness. If the flatness of the profile is not enough or deformed, there will be a certain gap between the door and window fan and the frame, causing air leakage.
Sealing strip quality or aging
Sealing strips are the key to door and window sealing, and the quality of sealing strips currently on the market varies widely. The high-quality sealing strip has strong toughness, strong wear resistance and is not easy to break; and the poor quality sealing strip is very fragile, easy to corrode and break, and can not achieve the sealing effect. If the seal is not installed properly, there may be an uneven or drum, which may cause air leakage.
There is a crack between the frame and the wall
During the installation of doors and windows, many winter door and window sealers did not do the sealing work between the door frame, the window frame and the wall due to the hasty rush to work or cut corners. Especially in the old house, the wall loosens during the settlement process, and the tightness between the door and the window frame is reduced. If the waterproof glue is not evenly spread, the sealant does not make enough, or the expansion bolt is not nailed, which will make the frame and the wall unable to be “stricted together”. In summer rainy weather, it is easy to collapse, and in autumn and winter, it will cause air leakage.
Hardware lock is not strong
The quality of the door and window hardware is also closely related to the sealing performance. Especially the casement window, which relies on the actuator of the hardware to seal, if the quality of the actuator is not good, it is easy to leak from the edge of the sash. At present, the door and window hardware sold on the market has domestic and imported points. Domestic hardware generally has two lock points, and the imported hardware usually has three upper, middle and lower lock points. The principle is that when the door and window are locked, the locking point and the locking seat are firmly fastened together, and cooperate with the hinge or the sliding support to jointly generate a strong sealing pressure, so that the sealing strip is elastically deformed, thereby providing sufficient sealing performance for the door and window. Therefore, the hardware that is not securely locked will greatly reduce the sealing performance of the doors and windows.
